Musing and Music
A few months back I posted a playlist of five songs that energize me and wake up my creative impulses. Today I am adding a second list, an update that is more in line with my summer writing vibes and my newfound sense of freedom.
To note, I identify as an emo kid, for sure, but I appreciate most genres of music. So, these songs are inspiration prior to writing, while I dance around the living room, or while I am sipping at my coffee, waking up to the world and looking at my blank screen.
- Peaches – “Dumb Fuck”
- Santigold = “Unstoppable”
- Arcade Fire – “Put Your Money On Me”
- Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow – “INDUSTRY BABY”
- La Roux – “Tropical Chancer”
While writing I usually have music playing alongside the familiar clack of the keys. Oftentimes the volume is a rollercoaster and I can get distracted by a good song quite easily. That is what made me start this new list, I rediscovered “Put Your Money On Me” by Arcade Fire last week and it has been on repeat in my head ever since.
Now, I find that these tracks resonate with me these days because I am moving onwards and upwards and chasing my dreams. I am not going to let anything hold me back this time. I am ready for the win.
So, I hope that you will find this playlist fun and maybe it will inspire some creativity for you as well. Or maybe just some dancing!
